She started on our driveway, but it's got a slight slope to it, and quite a few rough patches, and four dogs running around, so... it was proving quite a challenge.
We decided to take her to one of the local parks, and... she took off!
Jason helped her around the trails.
Yes, her helmet is too small. You'd think buying one sized for a 5 year old would fit our 3 year old, even with a big head. As our pediatrician once told me: this is why I needed a forceps delivery.
See that smile? It's all about that smile.
After we finished the trails, we were headed back to the car when Jason noticed the empty tennis courts.
They proved perfect for a child learning to ride a bike. Smooth, level, no rough spots... it was great.
She really took off then! Riding around completely unassisted, with no spills at all!

She looks so happy! I can't believe how big she looks on her big girl bike. So funny Natalie has the same helmet in the 5 year old size and she's almost 7. I would buy another Bell helmet though they are great! Here's to many more years of bike riding fun.
Yay! Way to go Firegirl! She does look so happy!
Go FireGirl, go! Love how happy she looked riding her bike :)
