And there goes my back...

About two weeks ago, I was up in the middle of the night (like normal), and when I laid back down I felt a "pop" in my lower back.

Since then, then numbness & tingling in my legs as returned with greater frequency and duration.

Then two days ago, I woke up in the morning, stretched, and... felt like someone took a vice grip on my tailbone. Owie.

So now I'm all walking funny, trying only to wear flat shoes (the only flat "winter" shoes I have that are okay for work are my steel toes - limits my wardrobe selections), and trying to take it easy while still getting work done.

Just reiterates for me the fact that this is, surely, a lifetime injury.

Ugh.

Thanks for checking in!

ooophhh! That stinks, Chica! I know how much it sucks because my dad had had a bulging herniated disk that his doctor said was like dousing his nerves in battery acid. He had to have 4 unsuccessful surgeries. But, I tell you this because, he had a state of the art surgery performed about a 1.5 -2 years ago where he had an implant placed in his spinal nerve bundle and from a remote control outside of his body he can control a "vibration" (as he calls it) that allows his legs and back to l function with only minimal pain.

So if you ever get to the point of disability that he did, there are still more options and don't give up!!

It also lends itself to an endless supply of bionic man (woman) jokes. :)

Hope you get some pain relief soon, Girlie!!!

I've been slacking on blog reading so you might have covered this on an earlier post, but has the doctor considered sciatica? I had a pinched sciatic nerve, and it sounds very much like what you're describing. The pain was pretty unspeakable, but muscle relaxants and physical therapy have really helped a lot. Feel free to ignore me if this has been ruled out, but figured I'd share :-) Feel better soon <3

Yikes - I hope you see some improvement soon...or the doctor comes up with some sort of fix for you.
